Aoife Gateaux 
[pronounced: ee-fa gah-toh]

The name Aoife Gateaux comes from a combination of my own middle name, Aoife, and the since I have a soft spot for all things francais, the french word for cakes, gateaux.


It's also designed to sound like the Italian dessert, affogato - a shot of hot espresso poured over vanilla ice cream - which I can highly recommend. 

I'm Naomi Aoife, the baker behind Aoife Gateaux. I have been baking for as long as I can remember, with my first obsession being to perfect my brownie recipe. When my husband and I got married in 2015, one thing I was excited about was cake! However, we found that while most of the cakes looked beautiful, that was the main focus. For us, it was all about TASTE. I decided I wanted to make people cakes that taste even better than they look. I started by making cakes for family birthdays, and replicating new favourites from trips to Paris. I continue excitedly testing new recipes every week.
